Let Nature Talk .......

Here`s a collage i did today .....

The title pretty much "speaks " for itself , as it`s one of many influences i get while out and about .....

It`s done on a piece of plywood i had knocking about , and cut it into small rectangles to work on. I undercoated it , then painted acrylic paints in blue with gold sponged on .......

Stuck on ....... Vintage music paper , feather , skeletal leaf for background , vintage tea card and wallpaper piece .....

Old bird image from a book , more feathers and a vintage ladybird brooch , a faux berry along with fancy ribbon / lace to finish the bottom edge ........

Strung ready to hang up with a piece of bias binding tape ........

The scene is set , at the bottom of my garden , for you all to have a look around .......

We have lots of delicious fruits to try ........ Along with some dancing fairies .........

Fairy Collage " Peak " .........

This is a small section of my fairy Collage i`m on with now ..........

After alot of deciding what to put as some of the background ..... i decided on some napkin decoupage , so that`s what has held it up , as i had to wait for it to dry overnight ....

All will be revealed soon !

I wanted to have a go at another subject .. .... apart from birds - i LOVE birds - So fairies came by , as they fly too !

While i`m on about trying other arty things .......

I had the fantastic news tonight that i am going to do an atc card swap with Frieda Oxenham !

She is one talented , creative woman ! If you love fabrics / sewing / atc cards .... Her blog is well worth taking a look at !

My work will be nothing as good as hers , but i`m going to give it my best shot ! I am so excited by this news , i can`t concentate on anything craftwise tonight !!

Anyone Up For A Challenge .... ?

I thought i`d put my feelers out to see if anybody out there reading this would like to take part in a 5 day art challenge ??
If your in need of abit of a change or lack motivation that`s lurking inside you , or want to get some inspiration back - i think we all get like that ! , i do . I thought about hosting a 5 day challenge ......
It doesn`t matter what type of creative art medium you do .... Anyone can join in .... At any point of the challenge . Do the challenge on whatever , paper , make a journal , canvas , it doesn`t matter ! Then all the participants can hop about , to see each others work , and give encouragement and support . Who knows , you may find something about yourself you never knew you could do ! What have you got to loose ? Just remember .... It doesn`t matter if other people don`t get what you`re doing ... Do what feels right for you . There is no right or wrong way to do it . The only thing that stops you is your imagination ........


I`ll post everyday ...... something which i hope will give you some inspiration and things to think about . . ... Then it`s up to you to do the rest ....... I will take part myself too .

So if your up for a small challenge , as i know we all have busy lives ;o ) Please leave me a comment , and i`ll get it sorted for us all soon !!




I hope to get some people doing this ..... So prove me wrong out there !! ;o)

Vintage Rose Tray And other Stuff .......

These are what i "bagged" as my todays bargains. As some of you may not know i`ve recently lost my job , so i have to be an even more thrifty at buying things !


Here`s an mdf letter holder , which i couldn`t pass on buying , as i saw alot of altering potential in it . I have put an undercoat on it so far , then plan to paint another colour on and stick images all on it .....















And couldn`t resist buying this bird lampshade , from Ikea ! They have some gorgeous textile items , when i do get to go there ! As i have to drag my partner in screaming , as he hates the place ! ;o)














Vintage rose tea tray , which is like the other one i got a while back . It `s got like fibres on the back of it , so i`m not sure if it`s material mixed with plastic resin























And finally .... i`d like to " WELCOME " .... The fairy godmother to blogland !!

Vintage Apron ........

This was a should i , shouldn`t i buy a while back .....
I had seen it and put it back , as it seemed like one of those things that nobody was really interested in , as it hadn`t sold , with the colour combination and images on .
But i have to say it has grown on me ! And i decided to give it a good home , and be my first apron buy ...........














It`s an old Marks and Spencers one , but i love the cute Dalmation dog trying to drive the old car !

Three Little Chicks Tag ..........

Just a simple tag i did today . A small card with handmade paper behind it , flower lace and fibres ...... Inked around the edges ..........

Blue Bird Tray ..........

Today i went out for a walk into my local small town , not intending on buying anything , just window shopping ........ and i went inside a charity shop and found this lurking at the bottom of a pile of old tea trays .....

A vintage blue bird tray , which has the most beautiful picture of a mother with her flock of babies on it !

It`s made of woven plastic , and wasn`t this clean when i bought it . I ended up spending an hour cleaning it all , as it hadn`t seen soap and water for years ! There was even some dried on food stuff ... Yuck ! So i thought twice before putting a " before " photo on here !

The side handles have beads on them . I LOVE my " new " tray !!

Also here`s my new bookcase in the recess at last ! Not quite as full as the other ones .... But give me some time and i`ll fill it up !

And finally ..... A sneaky pic of what i`m on with at the moment ..... An altered shadow box .....

I`m Officially ..... IN My Newly Decorated Craft Room !! ...

Well the day has finally arrived for me to say .......... I`m in my new craft room ! !

It has been a month since i started .... And it has been a LONG one to say the least .... More "downs " than ups in my life at the moment , but i can at least have a room of my own to retreat into away from the humdrum of life !




If you can bear with me ... As this could well turn out to be a long post , then i`ll begin .....




The start of the papering , and many holes to fill in on all the walls .
It`s amazing how abit of filler , new skirting boards and paper over the top makes it look totally different !

Another angle view and finally finished it . The paper was difficult to photograph , as it is pearlescent duck egg green / blue , but i hope you can see it in other photos along the way ... Even though it may look "flat " in colour , you can only appreciate it more in the flesh ! !

More Mixed Collectable Buys ......

I managed to find yet more vintage linens and lace over the past weeks , really cheap i may add !

A table runner .........

I`m not normally a pink coloured person .... but when i saw these ....... they were too pretty to pass on buying them all !

This one is a gorgeous organdie embroidered " bag ". It`s done this shape , but i`m not sure what can go inside it , as there are no ties to close it together ...... Maybe stockings or underwear ??

A beautifull vintage paper and lace fan ........

This box is my favourite ........ Inside it was a few pieces of letter writing paper and serviettes , but i wanted the box for the image of the girl playing a mandolin ..... So cute and i love the colours !!
